Fathom utilizes the latest technology and software, coupled with years of industry expertise, to generate optimal outputs for 3D scanning projects of our customers. Fathom provides customers with high-end precision 3D scanning services for both consumer and industrial applications.
Our 3D scanner collects data on the shape and appearance of objects, which is used to construct digital 3D models. Fathom provides customers with high-end reverse engineering and precision 3D scanning services for high precision components. With years of experience in reverse engineering parts and prototypes for plastic injection molds, medical parts, dental products and much more, our comprehensive engineering solutions can rapidly decrease the time to market for your ideas.
3D Scanners are devices that analyze real-world objects or environments to collect data on shape and appearance, data that can then be used to construct digital 3D models useful for a wide variety of applications. The purpose of the 3D scanner is to create a point cloud of geometric samples on the surface of the subject, which are used to reconstruct the shape of the subject.
The LMI Technologies HDI Advance 3D Scanner at Fathom uses a pair of machine vision cameras for capturing high resolution and accurate 3D scans using white light technology. The 3D scanner captures a single scan at up to 45μm (0.0018″) accuracy and generates up to 2.6 million points (5.2 million polygons) per scan.
If you have a part or object you would like 3D scanned, please give us the opportunity to quote your next project. After scanning we will send you a STEP, IGES, or native SOLIDWORKS file that can be used to replicate the object via 3D printing.
