Established in 1987, Precision Process Corporation (PPC) is a manufacturing company that offers integrated engineering-to-production services. PPC specializes in prototype, small-run to mass production of parts and components for medical, technology, automotive and metal stamping industries. PPC delivers complex and innovative products with high efficiency and high-quality standards while remaining cost competitive.

Precision Process Corporation by Fathom provides 100% quality control on all products and strictly adheres to quality assurance procedures pursuant to ISO 9001:2015 Design certification. Fathom Manufacturing’s extensive certifications include ISO 9001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 Design, ISO 13485:2016, AS9100:2016, NIST 800-171 and ITAR.
We widely use latest state-of-the-art CMM Brown and Sharp 7.10.7 with continuous touching probe. Depending on the project, we also use CMM Mitutoyo BH506 and 20X comparator with Tracer, Jones and Lamson FC-30 (with digital readout QC-2000).
Our metrology lab is equipped with three state-of-the-art CMM machines, visual inspection system, optical comparators and other standard measurement equipment, all calibrated according to the ISO 9001 recommended schedule.
Fathom Manufacturing’s production facilities can meet a wide range of requirements for unique geometries, profiling, turning, grinding, 3D milling, 4X milling with extremely tight tolerances. Utilizing the tool paths downloaded from our CAD/CAM software system, our CNC mill and lathes produce a variety of precision parts in parallel operations resulting in significant time savings.

Precision Process has the capabilities to do both wire EDM and small hole EDM, working with a range of metal alloys.
Wire EDM Capabilities:
For the most complicated applications, PPC uses the Mitsubishi Electrical Discharge wire cutting machine, Model FX10K and the Mitsubishi Electrical Discharge wire cutting machine model, FA – 10 and Electrical Discharging machine model FA-20 with Cad system. We also have conventional EDM machinery (Sodick NC Model AQ 35L) and hole popping ED2000M.
This equipment enables us to keep very tight tolerances and develop excellent surface finishes, where they are required.
Sinker EDM machines utilize linear motor technology with high accuracy that allows to produce fine finishes. Up-to-date control and EDM automation capabilities with superior power supply make these sinker EDMs the ideal choice for tight-tolerance applications including die and mold.
Sinker EDM literally “sinks” (plunge) a required shape into the workpiece.
Maxstar 200 Series with DIG control allows the arc characteristics to be changed for specific applications and electrodes.
Precision Process Corporation is located in Elk Grove, Illinois but services all the following local areas and more: Illinois – Chicago, Aurora, Naperville, Joliet, Rockford, Springfield, Elgin, Peoria and Champaign; Indiana – Gary, South Bend, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis; Wisconsin – Madison, Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha; Iowa – Davenport, Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. Additional areas can receive drop shipped parts or be served by other Fathom facilities that span the entire United States across the areas of additive, CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication and over 25 different manufacturing processes.
